Welcome to the Nerney Family Foundation

The mission of the Nerney Family Foundation is to invest creatively, to share wisely, and to commit itself passionately to improving the quality of life for underserved populations in the Greater Philadelphia area and beyond.

About Us

The Nerney Family Foundation pledges itself to discover, encourage and fund visionary initiatives, especially those in their early stages of development, which demonstrate the highest potential for success and system change. The Foundation will support nonprofit organizations and/or persons committed to the fields of education, human services, and social transformation.

Whom we Serve

Education

A Front Row Seat to Learning

A Front Row Seat to Learning works with LaSalle College High School and Mount St. Joseph Academy to provide scholarships for high performing students from underserved communities to attend private high school. Additionally, the program provides financial support to ease the transition from middle school to high school for the graduates of LaSalle Academy.

Social Transformation

Forgiveness Institute

The Institute for Forgiveness and Reconciliation at Chestnut Hill College seeks to promote a cultural shift from a society dominated by fear, violence, and retaliation to one grounded in trust, forgiveness and reconciliation (restorative justice) in order to build a safer and more just world. Its way forward is marked by two clear, objective components: 1) greater self-awareness and behavioral change through education and skill development; 2) networking with and service to the wider community to help heal the divisions that hurt and harm families, neighborhoods, and society.

The current cohorts are hired by Brown’s Supermarket, however, the program is actively pursuing partnerships with other companies to identify additional workforce pipelines.
